CASE #04 | 37th

I am turning 37 in a few days. Halos apat na dekada na ako sa mundo. Pero hanggang ngayon heto pa rin ako. Nangangapa. Naghahanap ng direksyon.

I have worked for the past 16 years in almost 7 companies and 4 different industries. I've been into publishing, PR, online teaching, and client services. I've written and published 3 Tagalog romance novels. I've written quite a number of articles and published them under my byline. I've edited some of the known names in difference field.

One of my previous blog entry was republished on an online magazine. But I still dream to write another novel under my pen name that will never be forgotten. I still dream to write a textbook that will be revised over and over again. I still dream to write a screenplay that will be filmed into a classic movie. I still dream to try my hand at directing my own film. Or putting up my own school.

I have studied in 6 schools - at Oranbo Elementary School in kindergarten, at Alice in Wonderland School from Prep to Grade Six, at La Immaculada Concepcion School from 1st to 2nd year high school, at Faith Christian Schoo from 3rd to 4th year high school, at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in college, and at the University of the Philippines for my 18 units of Certificate in Professional Education.

I have one degree and 18 units of a certificate course. I have recently passed the board exam and have 1 professional license. Yet, I still dream to earn that sablay in my pursuit for further studies in either film, creative writing, sociology, communication, economics, foreign language, or law. I still dream to pass the bar exam and become both a licensed lawyer, teacher, and medical doctor. Yes, I also dream in getting into med school.

I have traveled to 15 different provinces and around 17 cities in the Philippines. I've lived in two cities and worked in three different cities of the Metro. I have visited one country in Asia. But I still want to see more in this world. Paris, New York, Italy, London, Greece, Japan, South Korea, Texas, Hawaii are among the list. I also wish to visit US before my 10-year visa expires.

I've had four credit card from major banks yet I continue to still be in debt and have not learned how to manage my finances. Something I wish I would be able to finally straighten out as I grow older and wiser.

I have driven three different vehicles but never really earned a driver's license. I have been using Uber for the past two years and have now been forced to used Grab. But I still dream to have my own car and drive it.

I have four pamangkins out of my biological siblings, eight out of my cousins, and eight out of my in laws. Yet, I still dream to raise a kid of my own though the hands of my biological clock are swiftly turning.

I only had one serious relationship in my life which ended up as a lifetime commitment by virtue of the family code of the Philippines. And I plan to have it that way.

Yes, I have lived for almost 40 years yet I continue to dream. Sabi nga ni Kumareng Hannah Montana...life is a climb but the view is great!
