CASE #036 | A Laba Story

Image
Although there are days that the sun would come out pero sa hapon biglang uulan. Don’t worry. This is the solution. Your friendly neighborhood DIY Laundry! Ano nga ba and DIY Laundry?

CASE #035 | Rustic Mornings by Isabelo

Image
I love you, Sabado. Pati na rin Linggo. Mas lalo na ang Linggo. Walang pasok. Walang school, walang office, walang trapik. Good thing we lived in Pasig which is just a stone-throw away to this wonderful breakfast haven called, Rustic Mornings by Isabelo . Rustic Mornings is located at 11 Isabelo Mendoza Street, San Roque Marikina City. This is near the Shoe Museum where the famous giant shoe of Marikina was displayed.  If I remember the jeepney route correctly, you can ride jeepneys plying Amang Rodriguez Ave. with the sign Marikina Palengke or Marikina Stoplight. Just tell the driver to drop you off near the church or near the street going to the Shoe Museum. You can walk several blocks until you reach Rustic Mornings. Get off at the Marikina Sports Center which is usually the end route of ...

CASE #034: Naimas Taste of Home

Image
Naimas is an Ilocano term that means “delicious”. It was also the name of a restaurant with branches at the ground floor of the CAP Building in Amorsolo corner Rufino Street, Legazpi Village, Makati and another one at the ground floor of SM Light Mall EDSA corner Madison St. Buayang Bato, Mandaluyong City. Image source: https://www.facebook.com/naimasrestaurant/ Naimas offered delectable Ilocano dishes that will give you that authentic feel even without traveling to Ilocos. For the SM Light Mall branch, you can take the MRT and get off at Boni Avenue Station. I think SM Ligh Mall have an MRT access, so you can enter the mall first and go down a few floors. You can also take a bus and get off at the bus stop of SM Light Mall in Boni. It can also be easily pinned through Grab. Just choose the mall entrance at the corner of Madison Street. Image source: Google Maps If you have your own car, you can park it at the mall parking lot for a fee. I think th...

CASE #033: Guevarra’s by Chef Laudico

Image
Fiesta. This was the first word that came into my mind when Hubby and I tried out Guevarra’s. Think of the typical Filipino fiesta. Home-cooked family recipes lined up in the buffet table open for everyone.  The kind that would let you forget about your diet program and turn any day into a cheat day. Guevarra’s is located in 387 P. Guevarra Street, San Juan City. It is nestled by the inner streets of San Juan’s residential area and is not so accessible by public commute. It would be best to take a cab or book a Grab car to go there. Let’s see how this buffet restaurant fares in my review below. Ambiance ★★★★★ The restaurant is a 1920’s heritage house with its interiors converted into dining areas for guests. Upon arriving, you will see the signage “Guevarra’s” at the gate.  If you are taking a Grab car, you can ask the driver to enter the gate and drop you off at the front steps of the house itself. If you have your own c...

CASE #032: Officially .com

Image
I have now acquired my own domain name for this blog. Hooray! Dream come true. Ever since nagsimula akong mag-blog (circa 2004). Hati feelings ko about having this blog monetized or not. In short, para mapansin.

CASE #031: 10 Things I Miss About High School

Image
I have been out for a couple of days doing some errands. Dahil mahal ang Grab, I went back riding the good old jeepney. I enjoyed watching these teenagers wearing their school uniforms and talking about their first day of school. I went down to memory lane to reminisce what I miss about high school. Here are 10 things that came into my mind: 1. Bench cologne, Nenuco, Angel’s Breath, Polo Sport, Cool Water. Kasi pareho kaming naka- Bench 8. L...
